This is a DC-30? This airline has 6 of these diesel planes which are apparently ageless and still used fulltime. There are only something like 120 left in the world - WWII era planes. This one is probably going to a mine up north with people or supplies.

It's actually a DC-3, the highest number in the DC line ever was 10 (a 3-engined jetliner). You're right though, they are WWII vintage, but they were built as tough birds, which is why some still survive today.

Pianoman is INCORRECT! Its a C-118 Liftmaster (USAAF designation)/DC-6 (Civ) made by the Douglas Corporation of Long Beach CA. Post war plane c1946. As you can see it is four engine prop plane. The DC 3 has two twin wasp engines. The plane in Bens pict has four engines. Know what you’re talking about before making a comment.

Four engines?! Oh, yeah, didn't catch that earlier... it definitely ain't a DC-3 then!

And I probably would've been the first to have been shot down in a dogfight! :oP
